Why We Built This Site
Public access can be confusing even when the governing rule is clear. The Logan County Circuit Clerk keeps Circuit and Family Court dockets and files. A separate Logan County Magistrate Court Clerk handles Magistrate cases. West Virginia also provides WVPASS for public Circuit records and MCRSearch for public Magistrate case information. Bringing those distinctions together helps a reader avoid sending a request to the County Clerk or another office that does not maintain state-court dockets.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guidance: local explanations for criminal and civil court dockets.
- Hearing information: ways to review the court schedule and confirm a setting.
- Official searches: instructions for a docket search through WVPASS or MCRSearch.
- Record requests: routes for court case records, plain copies, and certified copies.
What We Cannot Do
Logan County Court Docket is privately operated and has no affiliation with a West Virginia court, clerk, or government agency. Its role is limited to public reference information.
- It cannot retrieve an official docket or case file for a reader.
- It cannot schedule, cancel, continue, or confirm a hearing.
- It cannot seal, remove, correct, or alter any court entry.
- It cannot issue a certified record or give legal advice.
- It cannot promise that a fee, contact, or setting remains current.
An official or certified copy must come from the Logan County Circuit Clerk, Logan County Magistrate Court Clerk, or other court custodian that maintains the original record.
